2019 China (Sichuan) Giant Panda International Ecotourism Festival opens.

Sichuan is the hometown of giant pandas. How to build a highland for the integration of giant panda ecological protection and cultural and creative tourism industry with the help of the national park system pilot? On September 29th, the one-month 2019 China (Sichuan) Giant Panda International Eco-tourism Festival opened in Chengdu. At the opening ceremony, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation and other projects in the Innovation Demonstration Zone of Giant Panda National Park was held, with a signing amount of more than 10 billion yuan.

The theme of this eco-tourism festival is "Meet Panda Homes and Gather in Beautiful Sichuan", which is jointly sponsored by the Provincial Forestry and Grass Bureau, the Provincial Government Information Office, the Ya ‘an Municipal Government and the Aba Prefecture Government. During the Eco-tourism Festival, dozens of series of supporting activities will be held one after another, such as the creation of giant panda IP and the investment promotion meeting of the community development project at the entrance of the Giant Panda National Park.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the scientific discovery of giant pandas, and Sichuan is also one of the cradles of panda protection and scientific research. At the opening ceremony, the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau announced the winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Contribution Award for Giant Panda Scientific Research and Protection. Eight Chinese and foreign experts, including Hu Jinchu, george beals schaller and Wei Fuwen, won the awards. At the same time, the Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau released three panda boutique tourist routes and the first batch of 10 "panda ecological towns" in the province.

Yang Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and deputy director of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Economic Commission, attended the opening ceremony. Qumu Shiha, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Working Committee of the provincial organs, and Yao Sidan, vice governor, presented awards to the winners and witnessed the signing of the contract.(Reporter   Wang chengdong)
